The Tiguan is powered by VOLKSWAGEN's versatile 200-hp 2.0L turbo FSI engine mated to either a six-speed manual (S FWD only) or six-speed automatic transmission along with a choice of front-wheel drive or 4Motion all-wheel drive. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, anti-lock brakes, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, and electronic stability control. The top-level SEL trim adds adapative bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights to help see and be seen.
For 2013, a rear camera has been added to the SEL, and a standard leather shift knob and multi-function leather steering wheel have been added to the S.
